Liverpool will have four times more fans than opponents Chelsea at next month’s UEFA Super Cup in Istanbul after the Blues requested just 1,314 tickets.
Champions League winners Liverpool asked for an increase to their initial allocation of 4,957, and UEFA have now given them 5,973 seats – an increase of 1,016. Liverpool sold out its initial allocation and has set up a new window for its additional tickets.
While Europa League winners Chelsea were due to have around 5,000 tickets the London club has reportedly only requested 1,314.
A total of 7,287 fans will therefore travel with the two clubs, which is 19 per cent of the 38,000 capacity at Besiktas’ BJK Vodafone Park. UEFA has stressed it has accommodated both clubs fully what they asked for.
Ticket prices for the August 14 game range from €50 to €150.
