Major bank reaches out to youth through Bookme partnership

Pakistan-facing ticketing operator Bookme has teamed up with one of the country’s biggest banks in its bids to engage more effectively with younger customers.

The partnership between Askari Bank and Bookme aims to establish a convenient and efficient e-ticketing service for the bank’s customers, with a primary focus on youth.

Askari Bank customers will now be able to buy online tickets for events, movies and bus services through Bookme’s online ticketing platform via the bank’s mobile banking portal.

As the bank looks to improve its digital profile it says customers will be able to pay and receive tickets instantly.

“We are glad to have a collaboration with Bookme.pk for further enabling our customers and bringing e-ticketing experience at a click,” said Asim Bashir, country head of digital banking at Askari Bank.

“The arrangement has a primary focus to meet the requirements of youth with regards to travel and event tickets. We look forward to be a contributing member in the growing eCommerce industry.”

Bookme partners with commuter bus operators, cinema houses and event organizers to digitise their seat maps, ticketing, and cash collections through its popular mobile apps and web-based platform.

It is already integrated with major payment platforms in Pakistan including JazzCash, EasyPaisa, HBL, Alfalah and FonePay.

Faizan Aslam, Bookme’s chief executive, said: “We are seeing a rapid shift towards the digital economy and we are trying to constantly innovate to meet our customers’ needs in this evolving digital age.

“We are delighted to partner with Askari Bank to further disrupt the e-ticketing space in Pakistan and provide a great online ticketing experience to their customer base.”
