Organisers for the ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup 2020 have revealed ticket prices for next winter’s event in Australia.
The governing body for cricket claims that the focus is “firmly on families and communities” with children’s ticket prices ranging between A$5 (£2.80/€3.15/$3.50) and A$20.
Adults prices across the majority of men’s First Round and Super 12 matches will cost A$20, with the Adelaide semi-final prices starting from A$40 and the Sydney semi-final prices starting at A$90.
The T20 showpiece fixture at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on November 15, 2020 will cost no less that A$125 for adults.
ICC T20 World Cup 2020 Local Organising Committee chief executive, Nick Hockley, said: “Passionate fans from around the world were a highlight of the recently concluded ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 and it is such an exciting prospect that both the women’s and men’s T20 World Cups are coming to Australia next year.
“We have made sure that tickets to all matches are accessibly priced, so that families, friends and communities can come together to support their teams and celebrate these major world events.
“Fans can buy any combination of tickets and with hospitality and travel packages also launched today, fans across the world have the options and flexibility to build their own T20 World Cup experience.”
Tickets for the event go on general sale October 18, 2019, through the event’s official ticketing partner Ticketek, with all fans who buy tickets to the women’s event to automatically qualify for a presale opportunity for the men’s event.
The event is scheduled to take place from October 18 to November 15, 2020 at seven venues across the country: the Adelaide Oval, The Gabba in Brisbane, Kardinia Park in Geelong, Bellerive Oval in Hobart, MCG, Perth Stadium and the Sydney Cricket Ground.
