Gateway Ticketing adds museum partner to portfolio

New York’s The Strong National Museum of Play has selected Gateway Ticketing Systems, the ticketing software and admission control provider for the leisure industry, to provide ticketing and admission control software.

Gateway’s Galaxy software solution will provide the museum – which was founded in 1969 – with ticketing, membership, group sales, retail POS, a counterpoint integration for food & beverage, webstore for eCommerce, kiosks and robust reporting.

It will also allow the museum to leverage member entitlements and parking entitlements. It could later add Galaxy’s Customer Relationship Management module.

Malcolm Campbell, director of guest services at the museum, said: “Our goal at The Strong is to continually enhance the guest experience. Gateway’s robust features and capabilities, particularly with admissions and membership processes, add additional benefits to not only our museum guests but for our staff, as well.

“Transitioning our museum store to the same system will also allow us to tie in our offerings more seamlessly, too, which we could not easily do before.”

The Strong National Museum of Play, an interactive, collections-based attraction that explores the history of play and holds collections of pre-1950s Barbie Dolls, video games from the 1970s, and board games, plans to go live with the Galaxy Product Suite in December 2019.

Visitors of all ages can play and interact with and revisit toys from other generations. The museum also provides access to online exhibits, curated by its team of historians, librarians, and archivists. These look closer at the history, evolution and cultural effects of play.

Michael Andre, president and chief executive of Gateway Ticketing Systems, added: “We are thrilled to welcome The Strong National Museum of Play into our customer community.

“We are excited to provide the Museum with the tools and services they need to strengthen their operations, while also gaining valuable insight and perspectives from working with the Museum’s knowledgeable team. Customers like The Strong are exactly why we love what we do: Who doesn’t want to help people experience a museum of play?”
