The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) will release international tickets and packages for Tokyo 2020 on Global Authorised Ticket Reseller starting tomorrow (Thursday).

The Tokyo Paralympics are projected to feature a record 4,400 athletes, with the Games including the new disciplines of badminton and taekwondo.

Applicants must first register for an Olympic ID, with those who previously registered to apply for Olympic Games tickets able to use the same ID.

CoSport president Robert F. Long said: “CoSport invites fans of sport, Tokyo and the Paralympic Movement to be part of the extraordinary with tickets to one of the greatest competitions in the world. This includes Hotel & Ticket Packages which simplify attending the Games so fans can make the most of their experience.”

The Opening Ceremony on August 25, 2020 at the newly built Olympic Stadium will kick off 12 days of sport which will feature 540 medal events.

Alexis Schaefer, the IPC’s commercial, broadcasting and partnership director, added: “As any Paralympian or sports fan can tell you, there are few opportunities more awe-inspiring or exhilarating than attending the Paralympic Games.

“With less than one year to go, Tokyo 2020 is on course to deliver the greatest Paralympic Games yet and we are delighted to invite international sport fans to enjoy this once-in-lifetime experience with CoSport.

“Paralympic tickets for Japanese residents went on sale on August 22 and there has been an unprecedented demand to secure seats. We expect there to be similar interest from international spectators when tickets go on sale with CoSport from September 5.”
