Bolton Wanderers launches season ticket sales following takeover

Bolton Wanderers has finally launched its season ticket programme for the 2019-20 season following an earlier block on purchasing passes for the current League One campaign.

Season tickets will commence from the Blackpool fixture at the University of Bolton Stadium on October 7 and will cover the remaining 16 fixtures.

Bolton, which has faced an uncertain summer after its relegation from the Championship to the third tier, has recently gained new owners, Football Ventures, pulling them out of administration.

All parts of the 28,723-capacity University of Bolton Stadium will now be open for supporters for the 2019-20 League One campaign, which will allow season ticket holders to keep their existing seat or relocate.

However, the club will hold a consultation with supporters in early 2020 if the upper tiers are under populated with a view to closing some or all of the upper tiers the following season.

Season ticket holders will be offered a window in which to renew their existing seats before they are released for general sale.

Bolton said in a statement: “Bolton Wanderers Football Club would like to thank our supporters who have shown their patience regarding their purchasing of season tickets for the current Sky Bet League One campaign.”

In addition, the club’s interest-free Direct Debit scheme will continue, with supporters able to spread the cost of their season ticket over a seven-month payment plan that will run from October to April.

All supporters who paid via Direct Debit for the 2018-19 season will have their seats automatically renewed on the seven-month instalment plan. Any supporter who wishes to opt out of the auto-renewal process will be given a short period of time to do so, and new applications will be accepted for a short period of time.

The Doncaster Rovers fixture, which was postponed earlier in the campaign, will not be included in the season ticket. Match tickets originally purchased for this fixture will remain valid for the rearranged date, or season ticket holders will be able to purchase their seat subject to its availability or buy an alternative one for this individual fixture.

Bolton has also introduced digital tickets at the University of Bolton Stadium through its partnership with Ticketmaster. Season tickets, memberships and individual match tickets can now be purchased and stored digitally on a mobile device via Apple Wallet and Google Pay.
