The Offspring takes the virtual stage in World of Tanks

US punk rock band The Offspring has become the latest artist to perform a virtual show within a video game.

The band were featured within the World of Tanks free mobile game based on World War 2 on Wednesday.

Fans who missed The Offspring on the virtual stage can still see the performance until October 7 by adding the gig to their ‘garage’ within the game.

“The Offspring performance at Tanker Day was a blast!” World of Tanks said in a tweet on Wednesday night. “If you couldn’t make the show, we’ve got you covered. From today until October 7, we’ll assemble a virtual stage in the Garage. To enjoy the show, click on the stage behind your tank.”

Virtual concerts are becoming more popular, starting with Marshmello who broke the record for having the biggest turnout in the virtual world when he played for over 10 million concurrent users inside of the game Fortnite in April.

Earlier this month, Korn performed within the AdventureQuest 3D game and in July, it was announced that social virtual reality platform Sansar teamed up with electronic dance music label Monstercat to bring live music to fans via VR.
