US pro women’s hockey league signs Aspire to boost ticket sales

The National Women’s Hockey League (NWHL) has teamed up with Aspire Sports Marketing Group to drive ticket sales for the 2019 season.

The remote Fan Relationship Management Center (FRMC) for the NWHL will be located at The Aspire Group’s National Sales Center (NSC) in Atlanta, Georgia.

The league, which kicks off in October, is coming off its most successful season in all business metrics, including ticket sales.

The average attendance of the NWHL’s 46 games during the 2018-19 season, including the playoffs, was 954. The highest average was for the Minnesota Whitecaps with 1,200 fans at each game, while the Connecticut Whales had the lowest with an average of 423.

“The league and its players provide some of the best access to its talent in all of sports. This fan-centric experience in support of women’s professional sports is well aligned with our approach to building fan relationships for life,” said Bill Fagan, Aspire’s chief operating officer.

The Aspire Group, which has experience selling collegiate and professional women’s sports, will provide dedicated sales and service consultants that will be focused on NWHL ticket sales.

NWHL commissioner Dani Rylan added: “The Aspire Group shares our vision for the advancement of professional women’s hockey and is committed to providing the best in ticket sales and service for our league and fans. We look forward to working with Kyne Sheehy and the entire team at Aspire.”
