Post Malone adds virtual concert to his on-going tour

American rapper Post Malone is the latest artist to announce his plans to perform a virtual reality concert via Oculus Venues Now.

The concert will see Post Malone perform live as part of his Runaway Tour at PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina on October 17.

Fans that are unable to attend or get tickets can see the virtual gig, produced by Supersphere, for free between 5pm and 8:30pm for those that have a headset by signing up through Oculus Venues.

Other artists have already taken advantage of the Oculus Venues VR experience, including Tenacious D, Vince Staples, The Revivalists, H.E.R. and, most recently, Billie Eilish.

Several artists have also begun to perform virtual concerts inside of video games, such as Marshmello, who broke records for 10 million concurrent users tuning in to his show inside Fortnite. Korn also performed a virtual concert in the AdventureQuest game and The Offspring took the stage inside World of Tanks.
