GlobalTix launches omni-channel ticketing solution for tourism

Asian distribution platform for tours and activities GlobalTix has launched an omni-channel ticketing solution for tourism establishments, aggregating all attraction tickets into one single e-ticket.

The Singapore-based firm’s integrated solution includes point-of-sales and direct online bookings with more than 2,000 travel agents, including TripAdvisor, Voyagin, Ctrip and Expedia.

The e-ticket that travellers use is made accessible via a singular QR code.

The QR code will allow attraction owners to consolidate both online and offline sales records in a single platform, whilst market insights in travel, utilisation and forward purchase patterns can be accessed via the platform.

GlobalTix, which will also provide marketing analytics support to firms, is charging attraction owners a monthly fee of S$53 to access its global distribution network.

The distribution platform is a cloud-based marketplace for merchants and travel agents, with its ticketing system bringing the two features together. Travel partners and merchants can manage their distribution and revenue as well as collaborate and create ticket bundles.

In November, the firm raised S$12.5m (£7m/€8m/$9m) in an investment round, led by Singapore-based venture capital firm, Tin Men Capital. At the time, the company said the new funding would be used to drive GlobalTix’s expansion into key Asian markets, with the firm already boasting a presence in Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines.
