Kasabian sells out homecoming gig in 44 minutes

Kasabian’s allocation of 50,000 tickets for its homecoming gig Solstice II sold out in just 44 minutes.

The Leicester show is the band’s only UK concert in 2020 and will take place on June 20 at Victoria Park.

Passes went on sale at 9am on Friday morning, and Kasabian announced on Twitter less than 45 minutes later that it had sold out.

Kasabian tweeted again later to say they were “blown away by the response to Solstice II this morning. To everyone who got a ticket, we’ll bring you the biggest party of 2020. To anyone who didn’t, things are cooking in the sergery and we’ll get to see all of you soon.”

Guitarist Serge Pizzorno told NME that the band had “big ideas” for its stage production.

Pizzorno said: “The aim is to transcend and the aim is to bring a huge amount of people together and bring them a moment. It will be chaos and absolutely insane.”
