Billie Eilish incentivises environmental action with free tickets

American artist Billie Eilish has teamed up with Global Citizen to begin offering fans free tickets for taking environmental action.

The 17-year-old star is offering tickets for her sold-out world tour, Where Do We Go?, to fans that have collected points through actions such as tweeting about certain issues, signing petitions and taking quizzes.

Global Citizen is an organisation that said it aims to “learn about and take action on the world’s biggest challenges.”

Eilish said in a video: “I teamed up with a great organisation called Global Citizens to help come up with a way to earn tickets for the Where Do We Go? Tour.

“And if you go to globalcitizen.org/billie you can learn more about environmental issues like plastic pollution and global warming and climate change and we can tackle these challenges and create a more sustainable world. So, love you.”

In addition to earning tickets, the tour is also set to be made “as green as possible,” with the addition of recycling bins and banning single use plastics.

Elish told host Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show: “There are no plastic straws allowed, the fans are going to bring their own water bottles, there’s going to be recycle cans everywhere, because it’s like, if something’s recyclable, it doesn’t matter unless there’s a recycle bin.”
