Indonesian online travel giant Traveloka has launched a cinema ticketing service in Thailand through a partnership with theatre operator Major Cineplex.
The new Movies feature will allow users of its Xperience platform to book seats for pre-sold and premiered films. The company also plans to develop more products and services for its users in Thailand.
Henry Hendrawan, president of Traveloka group operations, said: “Apart from a seamless movie booking experience, users will also be able to pay using multiple channels available on Traveloka today.”
Xperience currently offers more than 20,000 travel and lifestyle products in more than 300 destinations. In addition to Thailand, it is available in Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Australia.
In July, the firm participated in the series B funding round of Singapore-based PouchNation, a startup that offers tech-based solutions for events.
The Indonesian unicorn launched its Xperience platform earlier this year, to provide lifestyle products and services, such as attraction tickets, activities, car rental, and restaurant vouchers.
