Argentina’s River Plate unveils new ticketing platform with Vivaticket

Argentine Primera Division football club Atletico River Plate has teamed up with Vivaticket to boost the fan experience when buying tickets.

The Italy-based ticketing software solutions firm will provide a virtual queue and 3D stadium views to help fans choose their seat location.

Vivaticket claims its new ticketing sales platform represents a “substantial improvement” to the user experience, with fans able to buy tickets with ease.

Stefano Di Carlo, second vice president of River Plate, said: “With Vivaticket we will not only provide an improvement in the experience of all partners and fans who want to come to the Monumental, but also allow us to position ourselves in a place of constant innovation.”

River Plate has won Argentina’s Primera División championship a record of 36 times and 11 national cups, with the 2017 Supercopa Argentina as the most recent. At international level, River Plate has won 18 titles, with 12 organised by CONMEBOL and other international bodies.

Vivaticket has more than 2,100 clients across 50 countries, including brands such as Walt Disney World, Musée du Louvre and FC Barcelona.

Most recently, the Bologna-headquartered ticketing firm teamed up with Serie A football club AC Milan, as well as the country’s football federation.

The company employs 450 people and has established operations in 10 countries across Europe, the Mena region, Latin America and Asia Pacific.

Luca Montebugnoli, chief executive of Vivaticket, added: “It is a real honour to support a world class team such as Club Atletico River Plate with our innovative ticket sales platform. We are very thrilled to be part of this exciting project and are confident that we can greatly improve the shopping experience of their loyal fans.”

In September, Bahrain-based Investcorp acquired Vivaticket, in a move designed to “accelerate growth” for the Italian ticketing software solutions firm.
