Refunds given as Madonna cancels three tour dates

Full refunds are to be issued to Madonna fans in Boston after the Queen of Pop cancelled all three Madame X tour dates for health reasons.

The singer was due to perform at the Boston Center Wang Theatre between November 30 and December 2, but cited “doctors orders” to rest.

The specific injury was not specified, though earlier this month she told fans in San Francisco she was suffering from a torn ligament and a bad knee.

Madonna said in a statement: “Please forgive this unexpected turn of events. Doing my show every night brings me so much joy and to cancel is a kind of punishment for me but the pain I’m in right now is overwhelming and I must rest and follow doctor’s orders so I can come back stronger and better and continue the Madame X journey with all of you.”

Live Nation said the dates will not be rescheduled “due to the tight scheduling through the balance of the year.”

Refunds for the Boston shows will be automatically issued to the credit card on which they were ordered.

The Madame X tour has faced several set backs after postponing the opening dates in New York in September due to production delays and then called off a show at the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House due to injury.

The tour has seen Madonna take on more intimate theatre venues and will be travelled to the UK in January 2020 for a 15-night residency in the London Palladium.
