Kia Oval sells out three days of tickets for 2020 Test match

The Kia Oval, the home of Surrey County Cricket Club, has sold out the first three days of the 2020 Test match between England and the West Indies.

More than £2m worth of tickets have been purchased for next summer’s internationals at the 25,500-capacity, with £1m of these shifted in the first hour of availability.

The annual ballot to buy tickets was entered by more than 44,000 cricket fans, which marks an increase even on the ballot for the Ashes series earlier this year.

The more than 11,000 Surrey CCC Members were given a priority two-week sales window, prior to the ballot, where an equal number of tickets were bought.

Charlie Hodgson, managing director of The Kia Oval, said: “The record-breaking demand for tickets next summer underscores the immense of popularity of Test cricket in this country – and the Kia Oval’s reputation as one of the finest grounds in the world.

“After 2019 gave us one of the greatest cricketing summers anyone can remember, 2020 is sure to deliver yet more remarkable moments. As well as these Tests, the ground will stage seven huge Surrey matches in the Vitality Blast and play host to the Oval Invincibles in the opening season of The Hundred – we’re hugely looking forward to welcoming everyone to enjoy it all at The Kia Oval.”

Tickets remain for the fourth and fifth days of the match, the first Test on English soil next summer, which will be played between June 4 and June 8, and the season closing One Day International against Ireland on September 15.
