Singapore Sports Hub expands ticketing offering

The Singapore Sports Hub, the multi-purpose sports and entertainment complex that includes the 55,000-seat National Stadium, has widened its ticketing operations by teaming up with SISTIC, Ticketmaster and Ticketek.

The SportsHub entity, which controls the complex, launched a tender with an invitation to ticketing agents to send in their applications by November 14. The new panel comprising SISTIC, Ticketmaster and Ticketek began operation yesterday (Wednesday).

The move to expand the complex’s ticketing capabilities comes as part of plans to address its growing calendar of sports, entertainment and lifestyle events. Promoters will now be able to select which of the three ticketing agents will be appointed to sell tickets for their events, with the chosen company to offer booking services for tickets made available through their respective websites, mobile, call centres and retail outlets.

SISTIC, Ticketmaster and Ticketek will man the SportsHub’s central box office during the transition period before it is eventually manned by the respective ticketing agent of each event, operating only on event days. The SportsHub has also called for customers to opt for e-tickets when purchasing online.

Operators also placed on record their thanks to current ticketing agent New Era Tickets Asia, which had served as a partner of the SportsHub since its launch in 2014.

As well as the 55,000-seat National Stadium, the Singapore Sports Hub includes the 6,000-seat OCBC Aquatic Centre, 3,000-capacity OCBC Arena, Water Sports Centre, Kallang wave Mall, 100PLUS Promenade, Singapore Youth Olympic Museum & Singapore Sports Museum, Sports Hub Library, Shimano Cycling World, and daily community facilities and activities such as beach volleyball, courts for futsal, basketball and netball, lawn bowls, giant chess, a skate park and running and cycling paths.
