Dennis de Bruin has been promoted to chief operations officer of Amsterdam-based dance music promoter Alda Events.

In the new role, De Bruin will act as head of all commercial and operational affairs in the Netherlands.

Previously, the executive led Alda’s touring arm and handled multiple world tours for DJs including Armin Van Buuren and Hardwell. De Bruin, who has been with the company since it was founded in 2007, also helped to set up the firm’s Asia branch in Hong Kong.

Elsewhere, Premiership Rugby has named Andrew Higginson as its new non-executive chairman as part of a revised governance structure for the organisation following investment by CVC Capital Partners.

Higginson, the chairman of Morrison Supermarkets, had previously served as an independent non-executive director of the Rugby Football Union between 2011 and 2016. He took up his role at Premiership Rugby on New Year’s Day.

Javier Tebas (pictured) has been re-elected as the president of Spanish football league LaLiga.

Tebas will hold the position for four more years, through to 2024. Tebas has held the top role at LaLiga since 2013.
