Primavera Sound Barcelona sees major sales surge

Primavera Sound Barcelona shifted more than 10,000 tickets in the space of 24 hours, marking the “most significant surge in sales in the history” of the festival.

The event, which is held at the Parc del Fòrum on the Spanish city’s waterfront, welcomed more than 175,000 people in 2019.

Tickets for Primavera went on sale Thursday, with the event adding an extra day for the 2020 edition, which will run from June 3 to 7.

A full festival pass costs €195 plus a booking fee, which is increased once 80 per cent are sold, and available exclusively on the Dice platform.

This year’s line-up includes the Strokes, Massive Attack, Lana Del Rey, Tyler the Creator, and Kacey Musgraves.

A statement from the organisers said: “Primavera Sound wants to thank the audience, the media and the sponsors for the enthusiastic reaction to a line-up that is committed to uniqueness and to artistic independence.”

Primavera Sound Barcelona is one of four Primavera Sound events in 2020, including editions in Oporto, Los Angeles and Benidorm. In 2019 the festival committed to a gender-balanced line-up, with at least as many female performers as male.
