Espanyol unveils discount tickets to boost attendance

Spanish LaLiga football club Espanyol de Barcelona has announced discounted tickets for this weekend’s game against Athletic Bilbao in an effort to boost attendance.

Espanyol is offering tickets for €5 for seats behind the goals and corners, €10 for seats in the grandstand and €15 for seats in the presidential grandstand.

Children under five-years-old can enter for free, but can only request these tickets at the box office on game day.

The club said in a statement: “The next match at RCDE Stadium is key and the fans have a fundamental role! We want all members and subscribers to come to cheer on Espanyol and, in addition, do so accompanied by more parakeets (the nickname for Espanyol fans)!”

During the 2019-20 season so far, the club has on average half filled its 40,500-capacity RCDE Stadium, with 20,922 fans at each game.

Last season, the club, which finished in 10th position in the league, welcomed an average of 19,064 to each game.
