The ATP Mallorca Championships has signed Entradas.com as its official ticketing partner for its inaugural staging later this year.
The ATP 250 event, which will be held at the Santa Ponsa Country Club from June 20-27, is a new addition to the men’s grass court season ahead of this year’s Wimbledon.
Santa Ponsa Country Club, which has hosted a WTA women’s event for the last four years, is looking to expand the capacity of the central court to more than 3,500. The Mallorca event, which offers €900,000 in prize money, replaces the tournament previously held in Antalya, Turkey on the ATP schedule.
The terms of the deal between organisers e|motion and Entradas.com have not been disclosed.
“We are very proud of the commitment of e|motion for entradas.com for the management of this great event,” said Basola Vallés, chief executive of entradas.com, which has also been the official ticket sales channel of the finals of the Davis Cup and Real Madrid.
“This alliance highlights the strength of our platform and our marketing strength for the management of major sporting events,” he added.
Mallorca has a strong tennis pedigree as the home of both Rafael Nadal and Carlos Moya.
Edwin Weindorfer, chief executive of e|motion, which organises the event, added: “We seek excellence and, therefore, we always try to establish alliances with the most important partners in each sector since, no doubt, they make us much stronger.
“The first edition of an event of this magnitude is always key to its future development and we are convinced that this alliance will help us to make the Mallorca Championships a success in attendance.”
