Clarity launches new sports division with former Thomas Cook team

Clarity Travel Management, the company that recruited Thomas Cook’s staff following its collapse late last year, has unveiled its new consumer-facing sports division, Sportsbreaks.com.

Manchester-based agency Clarity, which already partnered with Thomas Cook Sport to manage the business travel for many elite sports clubs’ admin staff, directors and teams, will see Thomas Cook’s former sports head Rob Slawson lead the Sportsbreaks division.

The venture will offer ticket packages that also include return travel and accommodation for supporters across football, rugby, cricket and motorsport.

Sportsbreaks.com will offer Spanish La Liga, Italian Serie A and Portuguese Primeira Liga matches; seven Grand Prix, including Monaco and Silverstone; and Six Nations rugby in Dublin.

Operations manager Amanda Brandariz told TTG Media: “We understand the role travel agents can play in helping us showcase and sell our products and we’re looking forward to working with any agents interested in selling our product range at sportsbreaks.com.”

The firm has also said it would be working with agents and commission on its packages.

In September, Thomas Cook went into liquidation after failing to secure the £250m it needed to remain afloat. Following its collapse, packages and tickets immediately became invalid.
