See Tickets expands US portfolio with Pitchfork Music Festival

Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago has appointed See Tickets to oversee the sale and operation of ticketing at the three-day event.

The move adds another event to UK-headquartered See Tickets’ North American portfolio after it recently became the first ticketing partner for Planet Bluegrass’ three Colorado festivals. It also teamed up with the North American Auto Show, which attracts some 500,000 visitors to Detroit.

See Tickets North America chief executive Boris Patronoff said in a statement provided to Billboard: “We are music people. Our team of festival professionals are passionate about delivering excellence for music fans. We’re excited to be a part of one of the best festivals in the country.”

The 15th edition of Pitchfork will take place on July 17-19 with general admission and VIP tickets currently on sale, though the 2020 line-up has not yet been revealed.

The 2019 event, which attracted more than 48,000 visitors to Union Park in Chicago, featured the likes of Haim, Belle & Sebastian and Robyn.

See Tickets, which is owned by Vivendi Village, also recently announced the opening of a new Nashville office as its North American operation grows.
