Appointments round-up: Oakland A’s, Ticket Alternative and more

Major League Baseball franchise Oakland Athletics has appoint Steve Fanelli (pictured) as vice-president, ticket sales and analytics. Fanelli spent 20 years with the A’s in various positions, but most recently joins the club from NFL American football franchise the San Francisco Giants where he served as vice-president of ticket strategy and operations.

In his new role, Fanelli will oversee ticket sales and operations, ticket services, and data analytics, while keeping a focus on the continued enhancement of the overall fan experience.

Atlanta-based ticketing firm Ticket Alternative has brought in additional investors and appointed a new management team to support its long-term growth strategy.

The company, which will be led by founder and chief executive Jamie Dwyer, has named David Davies as its new executive chairman.

Bob Brush, who has 30 years of experience in the trade show, events, professional services and real estate industries, has been named as chief financial officer. The new chief marketing officer will be Keith A. Neely, while Susan Stewart has been appointed vice-president of sales and client experience.

UK-based promoter and venue operator VMS Live has hired three new team members in its London office. James Gall is joining VMS Live as southern manager and acting head of venues, taking responsibility for all VMS Live venue operations and venue management teams.

In addition, Filippos Saltsidis will become the main graphic designer and Yara Magarino will join as a marketing executive, having previously worked for festival discovery and travel platform Festicket.
