Lincoln unveils new ticketing platform to promote arts and culture in the city

The UK city of Lincoln has launched a fully integrated, online ticketing platform to raise the profile of arts and culture in the area, and to streamline the ticket-buying experience.

Lincoln Box Office has been launched as a joint venture between New Theatre Royal Lincoln and Visit Lincoln. It enables users to buy individual or multi tickets in one transaction, from over 100 Lincolnshire venues.

The new online ticketing platform has over 15 event categories, including music, dance, theatre, film, sport, comedy, talks and business.

Emma Olivier-Townrow, business development manager at New Theatre Royal Lincoln and a founding member of the programme, said, according to the East Midlands Business Link: “We wanted to create a digital platform that’s quick and easy to use in terms of buying tickets and would also inspire and champion events in our county.

“Lincoln Box office is galvanising the arts and culture landscape for the greater good of ticket sellers, customers and not for profit projects, and being fully digital and paperless, we are reducing waste.”

Jessica Chambers, project manager at Lincoln Box Office, added: “By bringing ticketing across Lincolnshire into one place, it will increase ticket sales, help businesses thrive, enhance the cultural activities and enjoyment of local people and visitors, and provide a whole host of other benefits to the communities in our region. In addition, creativity, culture and the arts are said to promote positive mental health.

“We are inviting all local venues and businesses to join Lincoln Box Office, to list events, sell tickets, as well as provide special offers and joint initiatives. The more we all work together – with the shared goal of promoting Lincolnshire’s diverse event portfolio – the more Lincoln Box Office can thrive and reach its full potential.”
