Online ticketing platform TicketSource has announced it has suspended its £1 handling fees for customer refunds resulting from events cancelled or postponed due to coronavirus concerns.
All affected customers of the UK-headquartered ticketing company will be refunded the purchase price of their tickets including booking fee.
TicketSource, which was founded in 2004, is used by thousands of event organisers and venues across the UK, EU and US. All three regions have already been heavily impacted by the pandemic.
Terry Rosoman, head of marketing at TicketSource, said: “We understand that having to cancel an event is an organiser’s worst nightmare. But, if it has to happen, we want to make the process as straightforward as possible.”
The company said that in order to help ease the financial impact of cancellations, it is waiving its refund handling fee per transaction until further notice.
Rosoman added: “We exist to help strengthen communities through events, and this is one way we can help communities to stay resilient.”
Event organisers have been encouraged by the firm to contact its customer support team by telephone, email or online chat for further advice and information.
