Moshtix partners with four new Oz and NZ racing clubs

Australian general admission ticketing firm Moshtix has announced a series of new partnerships with a number of leading Australian and New Zealand racing clubs.

The Ticketmaster-owned company, which is already the ticketing partner for the Australian Turf Club, which runs Australia’s richest race, the Everest, announced long term deals with Brisbane Racing Club, Sunshine Coast Turf Club, Country Racing South Australia (including 14 of the organisation’s regional racing clubs) and Canterbury Jockey Club, which held a sold-out final race day for the New Zealand Cup Week 2020 last week.

Harley Evans, Moshtix managing director, said: “The announcement represents a significant step forward for these clubs in their ambition to deliver an outstanding entertainment experience to a wider audience through a modern, fan-friendly, digital-first approach with Moshtix.”

Under the agreements, Moshtix will help the clubs to operate safely and within COVID-Safe guidelines, as well as reach new audiences and drive sales prior to race days.

Tony Partridge, Brisbane Racing Club chief executive, said: “Ticketing plays a crucial part in our digital strategy. In Moshtix, we have a partner not only with a track record of growing racing events, but who also helps accelerate the use of mobile ticketing, allowing us to engage with every attendee, offering them convenience and important event information, unlike traditional tickets.”

Moshtix, which has more than 1.3 million users in its database, was purchased by the Live Nation-owned ticketing giant in 2019.

Chris Biggs, Country Racing SA chief executive, added: “Our industry body undertook a review of our ticketing with a view to making buying tickets for our regional clubs easier for both traditional race goers and casual punters. Moshtix understands the complexities of racing clubs and gave us a solution that will ultimately benefit not only the general public, but also our members, corporate customers and horse owners. It’s a massive step forward for our organisation and the racing community.”

After completing a successful New Zealand Cup Week 2020 in Canterbury this weekend Gareth Murfitt, business services manager at Riccarton Park, said: “The level of professional service and knowledge that the entire Moshtix team delivered to us over the event was invaluable and we finish the Cup feeling confident that we have the right ticketing partner in Moshtix, and look forward to working with them for years to come.”
