Tottenham fans offered free tickets by non-league opponents in 2021-22

Tottenham Hotspur season ticket holders have been offered free tickets to a Marine FC game during the 2021-22 season as fans will not be allowed to attend the upcoming FA Cup match between the Premier League leaders and the Liverpool team, which sits in the eighth-tier of English football.

The draw between the two clubs marks the biggest ever gap between two clubs in the competition, and the non-league team claims it has been inundated by groups of Spurs fans coming to the Marine Travel Arena to take photographs.

Marine pointed to its fans missing out on its “once in a lifetime FA Cup run” as the ties against Colchester United, Chester, and Havant & Waterlooville were played behind closed doors.

“This is devastating for the supporters of Marine and has also severely affected the revenues we would have otherwise received,” a statement from the club read.

It continued: “Likewise, Tottenham Hotspur fans have not been able to attend their games and have missed their team’s rise to the top of the Premier League. Spurs fans also are not allowed to attend the Emirates FA Cup match due to the pandemic.

“As a result of this, Marine Football Club announced that they will allow entry next season free of charge to one Marine league game to all Spurs season ticket holders. This will allow Spurs fans to have the chance to attend the ground having missed out this time and will strengthen that bond between the clubs.”

Spurs season ticket holders will need to send an email at least 48 hours before any league game next season with their name and season ticket number stating the game they wish to attend. Instructions on ticket collection will then be provided.

The club also thanked Spurs fan Matt Bridle for setting up a GoFundMe page for fans of the Premier League club to donate to Marine.

Tottenham will travel to Merseyside on January 10 for the FA Cup third round match at the 3,185-capacity stadium.
