TEG makes further moves at the top with new CTO

Australian live entertainment and ticketing firm TEG has appointed Cameron Stone as its new chief technology officer.

Stone, who was previously chief information officer at Virgin Australia, will lead the team charged with developing the company’s technology capability and investments.

He will report to Ian Ball, TEG’s chief operating officer and global head of venues, who said: “We are thrilled to welcome Cam to lead our technology team to deliver on our investments in digital innovation and automation that will support our global expansion in content, ticketing and venues.”

During his time at Virgin Australia, Stone delivered some of the largest technology platform transformations in the airline’s history and was a member of the executive leadership team. He also previously held the chief information officer role and senior vice-president position at Aurizon, Australia’s largest rail freight operator.

Stone has worked across industries including aviation, financial services, and health where he has developed experience running mission critical technology platforms, working with global vendors and leveraging data for strategic benefit.

Geoff Jones, chief executive of TEG, said: “Cam has built a successful career specialising in large transformation programs and the mobilisation of technology driven organisations. He is perfectly placed to extend TEG’s technology leadership across our global operations.”

Stone added: “I am excited to be joining such a progressive and innovative business. I look forward to working with the team and building on TEG’s success.”

The appointment follows TEG’s management restructuring in September, which saw Cameron Hoy appointed to the new combined role of chief commercial officer and managing director of ticketing. Hoy, who was previously chief operating officer and head of ticketing for TEG, took on oversight of TEG Analytics, TEG Insights, TEG Digital and Commercial as well as all TEG’s ticketing operations globally.

In addition, Ball joined TEG as chief operating officer at this time and has been tasked with overseeing the operations, technology, IT, communications and corporate affairs functions, as well as leading TEG’s venues globally.
