3D Digital Venue introduces new allocation tool to Social Distance Editor service

3D Digital Venue has unveiled the latest enhancement to its Social Distance Editor (SDE) service as sports teams and leagues prepare for the return of fans to stadiums in the coming months.

SDE now features an allocation service that supports the decision-making process when relocating socially distanced season ticket holders. The main objective is to relocate patrons based on specific criteria and to make decisions when a member cannot be rearranged in their usual area.

The Barcelona-based tech supplier has been continuously developing its social-distancing tools since the COVID-19 outbreak began early last year, and is now enhancing its service further as the success of vaccination roll-outs enables the return of spectators in markets around the world.

“The process of relocating is complex, as many considerations must be considered in parallel to obtain the appropriate solution, which will be different for each club or venue,” said Lluis Pascual, chief marketing officer at 3D Digital Venue, which is partnered with major sports venues such as FC Barcelona’s Camp Nou, Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium and the Los Angeles Clippers’ Staples Center.

“In a social distance implementation scenario, many of the members will need to be relocated nearby or in other areas of the stadium.

“The objective of the tool is to facilitate this process, whereby categorizing members and sections to establish criteria, provides the most appropriate seating layout for the venue managers. The allocator allows to keep groups of members together and perform upgrades and/or downgrades to accommodate the maximum number of season ticket holders.”

Once the simulation is completed, users can download a file with the information of members with assigned seats, and another with those who are ” unassigned”.

Pascual added: “With this information, they can make pertinent decisions such as relocating them to other sections or making different waves of season ticket holders, who will alternate to assist to the events.

“Just as with the Social Distance Editor, you can create as many simulations as you need to adapt to the requirements at any given moment, which will certainly change from time to time.”
