Event ticketing solutions provider Tickets.com has teamed up with Pass to integrate ticketing capabilities directly into the digital identity tech operator’s new myPassID mobile app.
The myPassID platform provides verified credentials and enables users to share their digital credentials anywhere they choose. As well as storing information that proves their identity, individuals can also synchronise more specific records such as COVID-19 vaccination cards, ticketing and payment methods.
Organisations, such as employers or venues, can leverage myPassID to verify customers, visitors and others for whatever information is required for entry, such as tickets or questionnaire responses.
The myPassID app, which is already available on App Store and coming soon on Google Play, can also integrate with other physical and logical access control mechanisms thanks to compatibility with the CERTIFY SnapXT reader. Pass’s CERTIFY partnership also means that myPassID is compatible with other access control mechanisms offered by the latter, including facial recognition and thermal imaging.
A spokesperson for Maryland-headquartered Pass said: “myPassID enables users to share their digital credentials anywhere they choose. It involves a quick sign-up process with just a phone number; to access the full range of capabilities, a user can also scan their driver’s licence and take a selfie to further confirm their identity.
“This digital identity offering provides verified credentials so individuals and organisations can move seamlessly through the world around them.
“With Tickets.com, myPassID provides convenient and secure access for both ticket holders and ticket-scanning organisations.”
Apple announced earlier this year that it would be bringing mobile driver’s licence capabilities to its Wallet app before the end of 2021.
