Rugby League World Cup 2021 outlines refund plan

Rugby League World Cup 2021 has outlined plans for two refund windows following the postponement of the tournament until next year.

Organisers said the first would open for three weeks from later this month, with another to open after the rearranged fixtures are announced next year. In a message to ticket-holders, they recommended waiting until the rearranged schedule is announced so they can make an informed decision before applying for a full or partial refund.

RLWC organisers added that fans wishing to keep their tickets for the World Cup in 2022, which will be held in England, do not need to do anything. These tickets will automatically be transferred to the same game for next year.

RLWC 2021 organisers said: “Thank you for your patience and understanding following the announcement that Rugby League World Cup 2021 will now be held in 2022.

“Over the last week, we have received some incredible messages of support, confirming yet again that we do have the best fans in the world. We hope this support continues into 2022 when we can welcome you to some of the best stadiums across England to experience the thrill of live international Rugby League.

“Our ambition of staging the biggest and best ever Rugby League World Cup still stands.”

Rugby League World Cup 2021 in England was postponed earlier this month following Australia and New Zealand’s withdrawal from the event.
