Ticketing partnership opens up World Expo to Indian audience

Expo 2020 Dubai has announced Mumbai-based booking platform tripXOXO as an authorised ticketing partner for the event, as it anticipates a surge of visitors from India.

Expo 2020 Dubai was originally scheduled to take place from October 2020 to April 2021. However, due to the pandemic, the event will now run for 182 days, from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022.

Co-founder of tripXOXO, Heena Javed Akhtar, said: “Expo 2020 Dubai is a fantastic global event and offers something for everyone.”

Akhtar added that, with Dubai already being a popular destination for Indians, the company anticipates businesspeople, holiday-makers and students to take “advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the beacon of hope that Expo 2020 offers for a better future for all”.

The exhibition will be an opportunity for people to connect from all over the world, and experience the height of technology, culture, science, innovation and art.

Located in the Dubai South district between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the Expo 2020 site spans 4.38 square kilometres. The layout was designed by American architecture and engineering firm HOK with the event being organised around a central plaza and enclosed by three districts. Each one of the districts is dedicated to the three themes of the World Expo event: Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability.

It is close to the Al Maktoum International Airport and within reach of Dubai International Airport and Abu Dhabi International Airport.

Participating nations in the World Expo include the United Kingdom, US, Canada, Denmark and France, among hundreds of others.

Akhtar added: “There is something for everyone to engage with and enrich their curious minds. The six-month duration gives ample opportunity for people to plan their visit and we are here to assist them to get the most out of the experience.”
