SecuTix allows theatre to prevail in Barcelona

Software-as-a-Service ticketing and audience management platform SecuTix has renewed its contract with Teatre Lliure in Barcelona.

After a bidding process, SecuTix won the tender in July and the partnership will continue for the next three seasons.

The Teatre Lliure is a theatre that has held productions since it opened in 1976 in the Gracia neighbourhood. It was founded by theatre professionals that were dedicated to theatre in Catalan, the rereading of classics as well as contemporary theatre.

The company creates its own productions which have since been exported to other European and American cities. The theatre also alternates its sets between music and dance.

The partnership will result in the ability for Teatre Lliure to access data related to its audiences, their behaviour and purchasing habits, as well as having greater control when it comes to problem solving.

Alberto Minguillón, director of public management at the Teatre Lliure, said: “SecuTix is the perfect solution for the automation of ticket sales, allowing the reduction of the manual management of ticket offices, which has led to an improvement in the management of last minute ticket sale and the solving of any other issues directly.”

The SecuTix service covers the sale of seats and subscriptions for all of the theatre shows, as well as catering for other needs. Teatre has also been trialling TIXnGO, which is a mobile ticket delivery app from SecuTix that uses blockchain technology to sell traceable and individualised mobile tickets.

This system has been in place since September 14, which coincided with the first tickets being sold for the upcoming season. TIXnGO has also enabled Teatre Lliure to comply with the health guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic, due to the company’s mobile technology.
