Ticketing and live entertainment company CTS Eventim has acquired a majority stake in software business simply-X.
Eventim believes the simply-X move will allow it to develop access control solutions and integrated digital systems.
Chief operating officer of CTS Eventim Alexander Ruoff said: “We are thrilled to be able to offer our customers a one-stop shop for event organisation that is now even more comprehensive than before. What’s more, we have extended our value chain once again.”
German company simply-X provides event management products, including control, payment, ordering and customer loyalty solutions along with scanning pedestals and turnstiles.
Eventim will work with simply-X to enhance its access control segment, Eventim.Acess. At present, the race track Hockenheimring, the Olympic stadium in Berlin and Deutsche Bank Park stadium in Frankfurt are using simply-X solutions.
Chief executive of simply-X Mathias Bode said: “We are proud to be able to continue growing with CTS Eventim at our side. A great many customers are already successfully using our solutions together with those of CTS Eventim and these systems will be even easier to combine in the future.”
Bode added: “At the same time, simply-X will be retaining its independence so that it can continue helping other partners with their digitalisation journeys.”
Eventim recently announced that it would be selling tickets in the North American market as it continues to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. The German company also introduced Eventim Live Asia, a new promoter network headquartered in Singapore.
