Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle has outlined its entry requirements, which include a need to be double vaccinated against COVID-19.
Partnering with identification platform Clear, Climate Pledge Arena, which is home to National Hockey League (NHL) franchise Seattle Kraken, is asking for fans to download Clear’s Health Pass to their phones.
Visitors are able to upload their vaccination information to the Clear Health Pass in order to enter the arena.
Fans can enrol once with their information, select ‘Climate Pledge Arena’ from a list of venues and verify their identity through an identifying document, a vaccine card or proof of vaccination as well as taking a quick photo.
This will then offer a QR code which can be scanned at the ticketing gate.
Children aged 12 to 13 must bring a physical copy of their vaccination card, while those that are between the ages of 14 and 17 will need to download the app to their phone. The parent will then create a ‘minor account’ under their own account, which they can then show at the gates in order to enter the stadium.
Unlike other venues, Climate Pledge Arena is not accepting proof of a negative test in place of being fully vaccinated.
The only exception to the rule is if an attendee is unable to have the COVID-19 vaccination due to medical or religious reasons. They will have to provide proof of ineligibility with acceptable documentation and a negative test result from the last 48 hours.
The revamped Climate Pledge Arena has been built on the site of the former KeyArena. Seattle-headquartered Amazon acquired naming rights to the arena last year and will use the partnership to promote its Climate Pledge campaign. The upcoming NHL season will mark the Kraken’s debut in the competition.
