ASM Global reveals worldwide job fair

Venue and event management company ASM Global has revealed plans for an international job fair, with the aim of addressing a global staffing shortage in the sector.

‘ASM Global Presents: The Next Great Opportunity’ will target the US, UK, Europe, South America and the Asia-Pacific (APAC) regions.

The ‘collaborative job fair’ will cover four continents and take place this month. Events in the US, Canada and Latin America are scheduled for February 15-16, while the fairs in the UK and APAC region are pencilled in for February 16-17.

ASM Global hopes that the international search will highlight diverse talent and expand the company’s reach within its local communities, as well as celebrating the return to live events following the pandemic.

“The return to live is just what the world needs,” said ASM Global president and chief executive Ron Bension. “There’s a thrill, an excitement, that makes this business feel communal for everyone involved.

“Our hope is that ‘ASM Global Presents: The Next Great Opportunity’ helps ignite that excitement.”

The event will enable venues to discover talent for new roles from hourly to salaried positions. Jobs include possibilities in operations, business development finance, food and beverage, human resources, sales, marketing, booking, security, guest services, audio visual tech, catering and more.

Some of the venues involved include AO Arena in Manchester, the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre, Barclays Center in Brooklyn (pictured), the International Convention Centre in Sydney and Kai Tak Sports Park, Hong Kong.
