TRG Arts set to launch Talent Lab workshops

Consultancy TRG Arts has announced the launch of Talent Lab, which will aid emerging arts administrators in their professional development.

Talent Lab will offer an affordable way for arts organisations to invest in young professionals, to help develop and retain high-quality employees.

TRG Arts’ new venture will be led by chief talent officer, Keri Mesropov.

“I’m beyond thrilled to lead this talent initiative that ends the status quo for what used to pass for professional development of arts and culture employees,” said Mesropov.

“If we together are to ensure the sustainability of this sector, we all must evolve as professionals and challenge the mindset of constant scarcity of both money and time. It is just as valuable to spend resources training arts administrators as it is to train dancers, musicians, or actors.”

Talent Lab will run a series of workshops and will focus on topics such as emotional intelligence, effective feedback, learning agility and strengths-based leadership. The workshops will also look at more technical frameworks like budgeting revenue targets with precision.

The workshops have been designed with mid-level managers and their teams in mind, to help them learn professional skills and industry-best practices.

Mesropov added: “Talent Lab will be a relational, empathetic, inclusive workshop that prioritises attendees’ development and knowledge expansion. We want to ignite people – the way our consulting always has – but in a potent, bite-sized workshop.

“Throughout my career, I’ve experienced first-hand the frustration of employees and the negative impact on organisations from a lack of effective training and leadership.

“Talent Lab provides opportunities for measurable growth at a time when employees rank professional development and feeling valued higher in the importance than salary and benefits, and our arts and culture organisations need them the most.”
