Concert for Ukraine reveals artists including Ed Sheeran and Camila Cabello

Concert for Ukraine, a two-hour long live event to raise funds for the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), has revealed the first set of artists to perform.

Ed Sheeran, Camila Cabello, Emeli Sandé, Gregory Porter and Snow Patrol are all due to perform at the event, which will be held on Tuesday, March 29.

Broadcasters ITV, STV and producers Livewire Pictures will be working alongside DEC and media and entertainment group, Global, to raise funds for DEC’s Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. The live show will be broadcast across ITV, STV, ITV Hub and STV Player in the UK, while Global will be using its Heart and Capital networks to cover behind-the-scenes moments.

Tickets for the event, which will take place at Resorts World Arena, Birmingham, will go on sale from tomorrow (Tuesday).

The DEC works with 15 aid charities in the UK during times of crisis overseas to help raise funds. Some 13 of the DEC’s 15 members are already responding or planning to respond in Ukraine and neighbouring countries.

Charities include: Action Against Hunger, ActionAid UK, Age International, British Red Cross, CAFOD, Care International UK, Christian Aid, Concern Worldwide UK, International Rescue Committee UK, Oxfam GB, Plan International UK, Save the Children UK and World Vision UK.

Sponsorship and advertising revenue generated by the live concert will be donated by ITV to the DEC appeal.

Camila Cabello said in a statement to Global media outlets: “My heart is breaking for the people of Ukraine. As refugees from Ukraine join millions of other displaced people around the globe, we all have a responsibility.

“One of the biggest needs is to get funds to organisations who can serve these communities directly, so we’re focusing our efforts on doing that as quickly as we can.”

Further artists will be added to the line-up in due course.
