Backstage: Roxy Music, Shawn Mendes and more…

A round-up of the latest live music news…

English band Roxy Music are set to go on tour for the first time in 11 years to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their debut album. The band, which consists of Bryan Ferry, Andy Mackay, Phil Manzanera and Paul Thompson, will tour across the US, Canada and the UK in September and October.

Canadian star Shawn Mendes is expanding his tour and adding 13 new dates to the North American leg. Mendes has announced additional shows at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, new shows in St Louis and San Diego and a performance in Toronto, his home town. Wonder: The World Tour will commence in June, with the European leg being held in 2023.

Metal band Korn have announced a Live Nation-produced summer tour alongside rock band Evanescence. The 18-city tour will kick off in August at Ball Arena in Denver before travelling around the US.

Korn’s Jonathon Davis said: “We’re looking forward to going on tour this summer and bringing our friends, Evanescence, out. Whenever Amy comes to one of our shows, I always love seeing her on the side of the stage watching the whole set and rocking out. We’re gonna have a great time on this tour, and we can’t wait to see you there.”

Backstreet Boys have added further stops to their DNA World Tour in major cities in the US, including Nashville, Portland and Memphis. The boyband have also added a European leg which will begin in Portugal in October. They will perform in Spain, Germany and Italy before wrapping up the tour at The O2 in London in November.

Creamfields Thailand has revealed its first wave of performances for its debut festival in Pattaya in May.

Artists such as Fedde Le Grand, R3hab, Jeffrey Sutorious, Beauz and Pink Panda will be performing at the festival, with further acts to be announced. Early bird tickets went on sale on Monday and have already sold out.

Grupo Firme, a regional Mexican act, is set to embark on a US stadium tour in 2022. The Latin Grammy-award winning septet from Tijuana will perform in nine cities across the US, with the tour presented by Music VIP Entertainment.

The band will play in cities such as Los Angeles, Washington DC, Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago, San Diego and Houston.

Seven Peaks Music Festival, from entertainer Dierks Bentley and entertainment company Live Nation, will return for a third time in San Luis Valley in Villa Grove, Colorado. The event will take place from September 2-4. Further information regarding the line-up and ticket details will be revealed on April 13.
