Payments for World Cup tix due

Football fans that managed to secure tickets to this year’s FIFA World Cup in Qatar have until tomorrow (Wednesday) to make their payments.

Individuals that have been allocated tickets in the random selection draw sales period of Sales Phase 2 have until 11:00 CEST or 12:00 Doha Time on Wednesday to pay for their purchase.

If fans do not make their payment on time, tickets allocated to them will be cancelled.

The second sales phase went live on April 5, running until April 28. Around 800,000 tickets from 17 million applications were secured during the first sales phase.

Fans were notified of the outcome of their applications on May 31.

Some 23.5 million ticket requests were made for the second sales phase, with the largest number of ticket applications coming from Argentina, Brazil, England, France, Mexico, Saudi Arabia and the US.

Ticket applications flew in for the most coveted matches including Argentina vs Mexico, Argentina vs Saudi Arabia, England vs USA and Poland vs Argentina.

FIFA received three million requests for tickets to the World Cup final alone. According to data revealed to the Associated Press, this equated to roughly 40 applications for each seat at the 80,000-capacity Lusail Stadium where the final will be held.

The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will run from November 21 through to December 18, when the final is set to take place.
