Six million fans to attend Live Nation events in the UK this summer

Live Nation UK expects almost six million fans to attend live shows across the UK over the months of June, July and August. 

This month has already witnessed over 200,000 attendees at festival Creamfields South and a live performance from former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher  at Knebworth. 

The weekend saw Download festival take place at Donington Park and Parklife at Heaton Park in Manchester. 

Some 300,000 live music fans were treated to headline sets from acts such as Kiss, Iron Maiden, Biffy Clyro, 50 Cent, Chase & Status and Tyler, the Creator across the two festivals. 

Live Nation believes that this will its biggest summer in the UK, with fans set to attend over 100 events. The live entertainment company has predicted that almost four million people will attend a festival or outdoor event, while a further two million will attend shows at indoor venues. 

Tours from acts like Harry Styles, Lady Gaga, Eagles, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Billie Eilish are heading to the UK, meaning fans have plenty to choose from. 

The company noted that some 24% of the Scottish population with attend a Live Nation-owned DF Concerts show or festival this summer. 

Live Nation has also introduced five new festivals and editions of various events across the UK for this summer. 

Denis Desmond, chairman of Live Nation UK and Ireland, said: “It is wonderful to see fans reunited with the artists they love, and new bands forging their futures. This will be a summer to remember.”
