Exit Festival announces NFT drops

Serbia’s Exit Festival is set to launch two new NFT (non-fungible token) collections, after its first set sold out in May.

Organisers are collaborating with model, pilot and human rights activist Christina Carmela and DJ and producer Maceo Plex on the collections.

The Shades collection was created with Plex and will launch on World Music Day, which falls on June 21. The Wings NFT collection, which was created with Carmela, will drop the day before. A limited number of new items will be added to the previously sold-out Headphones collection, and will be available for minting.

Dusan Kovacevic, chief executive and founder of Exit Festival, said: “We will always strive to provide the best possible real-life experience as we strongly believe the human connection and energy can never be replaced.

“We see the Metaverse as an addition but by no means a substitute for the human experience. That’s why we use digital technology to amplify the real-life experience while blending the best of both worlds.”

Depending on the rarity of each NFT, the tokens will provide owners with access to exclusive, secret and VIP zones at the festival, as well as other benefits like access to the stage of the mts Dance Arena (pictured middle), meet and greets and private parties.

Kovacevic added: “Our mission is to unite the artists, music industry professionals, and key stakeholders and organise it as a DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) within the Metaverse. We believe the future is in this unity, and our goal is to go to the Metaverse together.”

The NFTs will be available to purchase through environmentally friendly SolSea NFT Marketplace.

This year’s Exit Festival will feature performances from Calvin Harris, Iggy Azalea, James Arthur, Masked Wold, Disciples and more. It is due to take place July 7-10 in Novi Sad, Serbia.
