Blackpool introduces digital ticketing at Bloomfield Road

English Championship football club Blackpool has announced that it is introducing digital ticketing at its home stadium, Bloomfield Road.

This season, fans will enter the 16,616-capacity stadium using digital ticketing, which is set to be rolled out as an option to season ticket holders over the coming months.

Blackpool worked with fan engagement company and access control partner Fortress, and ticketing partner Ticketmaster, to deliver the new method of entry.

Thanks to NFC technology, supporters will be able to download and store their season tickets on their smartphones using Apple Wallet or Google Pay.

Entry to accommodate digital ticketing will be phased in across the stadium over the coming months. Season ticket holders in the South Stand will have the first opportunity to utilise the new digital entry, starting with this weekend’s home game against Swansea City.

Current season ticket cards will still remain fully operational but only one method of entry – be it physical or digital – can be used for each game.

South Stand season ticket holders will be contacted over the next week with more information on how to download their digital season ticket.

Further announcements on the move to digital ticketing in other stands in the stadium will be made in due course.
