MetaFests and Vatom launch Web3 toolkit

UK-based Web3 specialist for festivals, MetaFests, has partnered with US-based Web3 technology platform Vatom to launch a ‘Digital Lanyard’.

The ‘Digital Lanyard’ is a blockchain-powered toolkit that will help festival organisers gain access to the multiple benefits of Web3, via Vatom’s digital platform. The first UK festival to use the ‘Digital Lanyard’ is Lakefest, which will use NFT (non-fungible token) technology for its 20,000-capacity event in 2023.

A new music booking app

A live music booking app has rolled out in London ahead of a wider-UK launch next year. Originally launched in Finland, Gixon introduced the app that was put live during the pandemic to facilitate paid online performance bookings. The long-term plan is to enable the bookings of in-person shows.

The app company’s co-founder and chief executive told Complete Music Update: “In the fully connected, digital age it seemed insane to us that connecting amazing musicians with booking opportunities was so difficult, in many cases nearly impossible. Gixon removes all of these barriers for both music consumers and artists.”

Coldplay wow cinema-goers

Coldplay’s Music Of The Spheres live-streamed concert from Buenos Aires entered the worldwide cinema box office top 10 at the weekend. The concert was shown in 81 countries, which was a record number for a live cinema event.

According Comscore, the broadcast from the city’s 72,000-capacity Estadio River Plate topped the cinema box office charts in Argentina, Mexico, Chile and the Netherlands. It reached number three in the UK’s cinema charts.

Musically Yours by the Kakkars

Singapore-based blockchain start-up ecosystem E-Verse has revealed its first global metaverse concert with two of India’s musical stars, Neha and Tony Kakkar. The virtual concert will be called ‘Musically Yours by the Kakkars’.

The event will be live-streamed on November 26 from Mumbai, India with tickets available through Paytm Insider and BookMyShow. Special NFT ticketing is powered by Caduceus blockchain.
