With less than 250 days to go until the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, the organising committee is set to put 420,000 tickets on sale in December.

Athletics fans will be able to secure their seat at the Championships from December 12, with a priority pre-sale taking place on December 9. Those that register will be sent a personal link the day before, in order to purchase tickets three days ahead of the general sale.

Organisers have priced 50% of tickets under $33 (£27/€31) with evening sessions, which will feature some of the globe’s athletics stars, priced at just $54. Fans will be able to witness a number of finals across different disciplines at these evening sessions.

There will be special offers and discounts for families and group bookings, as well as options for premium tickets.

Packages will also be available for those that wish to watch their favourite athletes from the heats through to the finals.

The Championships will incorporate 14 stadium sessions and six road events held in Budapest.

Adam Schmidt, Government Commissioner for the World Athletics Championships Budapest 2023, said: “There really will be something for everyone, from the novice to the super fan. We will make Christmas gift-buying easy with nine exhilarating days of action to come in our brand new, purpose-built National Athletics Centre.

“We will also be hosting ticket-free road events as the great marathoners and race walkers stride through our beautiful capital, passing world recognised landmarks and crossing the majestic Danube.”

The World Athletics Championships will take place in the Hungarian capital between August 19-27 2023.
