Spanish LaLiga club RCD Espanyol is looking to bump up its attendances at the 40,000-capacity RCDE Stadium (pictured), by offering existing members a financial incentive to entice new card-holders.

The club will offer subscribed members that encourage a new fan to sign up 50% of the amount of the membership back via a bank transfer, as long as the price does not exceed the total paid for their own card.

Each member will be able to register with a single member-subscriber until January 4. Members will then receive the 50% payment no later than the end of January.

New members can register through the club’s website or app or by making an appointment. Once fans have registered, existing members that encouraged the sign-up must send an email to the club (abonaments@rcdespanyol.com) with the promotion document, a photocopy of an identification document (ID) and a signed SEPA order.

In order to take part in the promotion, existing member-subscribers must also have renewed for the 2023-24 season. Those that renewed before Tuesday will be able to take advantage of this promotion. If fans are only a member, they must register as a subscriber without taking into account the amount of the membership card.

RCD Espanyol said in a release: “You are our engine and the most important part of the club. On many occasions you have told us that we must work to be more and so that the stands of the RCDE Stadium is filled every game with thousands of parakeets encouraging and pushing the team. We want to grow and you are essential to achieve it. We want you to share the magic of the matches in our stadium.”
