Ticketmaster outlines remaining Taylor Swift Eras Tour ticketing plans

Ticketmaster has revealed its plans to sell the remaining Taylor Swift Eras Tour tickets.

According to a report from Billboard, the Live Nation-owned ticketing company will use an older fan club ticketing system to sell the remaining 170,000 tickets. This system reportedly takes the queue out of the process.

The move comes after Ticketmaster was forced to cancel the tour’s general sale, after its website buckled under the pressure of millions of users trying to purchase tickets in the pre-sale.

It was revealed earlier this week that Taylor Swift fans would be given a second chance to purchase tickets.

Billboard reported that Ticketmaster will use Ticketstoday, a company which it owns, that still operates the Verified Fan platform.

Ticketstoday will pace the sales and they will be processed away from the public, avoiding the same major issues from the previous pre-sale. The platform will also help to select which fans will be able to participate in the sales.

According to reports, fans who purchased tickets to the 2020 Lover Festival, which was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, have been made a priority. Participating fans will be sent an email requesting details such as credit card number and choice of seating options at a range of prices and locations.

Ticketmaster will then work with fans to match their requirements, before charging the card on file.

It is expected that the process will be completed by December 23.
