We round up the latest movements from the ticketing sector and associated industries…

NEC Group Ticketing and Arenas has revealed a new senior commercial team ahead of a busy 2023.

The team will be responsible for the programming of Utilita Arena Birmingham and Resorts World Arena, as well as decision making for the group’s premium hospitality provider Amplify and national ticket agency, The Ticket Factory.

Ben Sharman (left) has taken up the new position as head of venue programming, while Noel Edwards (middle) has become ticketing director. Gareth Coleman (middle left) will continue in his role as ticketing general manager and Nicky Burgess (right), who was appointed as head of sales (premium and groups) last year, rounds up the senior team. The division will be led by commercial director of NEC Group Ticketing and Arenas, Andy Price (middle right).

Price said: “Despite the ongoing challenges our industry faces, performance has been extremely positive for the commercial division this year, most notably with The Ticket Factory who have had an extremely busy year. As we look to drive future growth, it’s important we harness the experience we already have in the business and I’m excited to see its impact on revenues as we move into the new year.”

Smart Pricer’s team for attractions, sports and entertainment has appointed Filippo Scanzano as country manager.

In this newly created role, Scanzano will report to chief executive and founder Christian Kluge, and will be responsible for marketing, sales and commercial customer support.

Scanzano has joined from sports marketing agency Infront Germany and also has previous experience with ticketing firm, CTS Eventim.

“Due to rising inflation, more and more market players are currently approaching us to help them increase their sales, capacity utilisation at weak events and the share of early bookers. We are pleased that with Filippo we won a proven expert in the field of sports and entertainment, who brings in both network and the necessary industry know-how,” said Kluge.

Georgia Sherlock has been promoted to the role of senior marketing manager, European festivals at AEG Presents UK, while Danielle Kennedy-Clark has been made vice-president of guest experience at AEG.

Elsewhere, City Football Group has promoted Emma Parkes to the role of fan journey executive. Parkes previously held the role of journey manager executive at the company.
