Somerset County Cricket Club has launched a new ticketing app ahead of the 2023 season.
Created in collaboration with Tixngo, a division of Secutix, the SCCC tickets app is a mobile ticketing wallet that will allow Somerset members and fans to securely store and transfer their digital tickets.
The new app is compatible on both iOS and Android operating systems, and ticket-holders will be able to present their phone to be scanned at the gate in order to gain access to the Cooper Associates County Ground.
Tixngo’s system has been utilised by other venues including London’s Wembley Stadium.
The solution helps to eliminate counterfeits and fraud because the tickets are encrypted with blockchain. Tixngo’s system also helps with issues surrounding the secondary ticket market, as each ticket is associated with an identity. The cricket club tested the app at a recent member open day.
Somerset first announced its partnership with Secutix in October 2021 as part of its digital transformation.
